Today, the airlines all over the world face a lot of challenges regarding the security and operations especially after the September 11, 2001 attacks on the United States of America. Each airline has drafted certain policies regarding the airline safety and most importantly its customers safety which in some cases turn their course on the airlines personnel issues and the expected procedures (Grubbs-West, 2005).

Southwest Airlines Co. is an inexpensive American company with its head quarters in Dallas Love Field, Dallas in Texas and is said to be the worlds prevalent airline by means of the number of passengers carried in 2009 and is said to operate almost 3510 air travels everyday which is some how a large amount. Established in 1967 it has been a very successful airline since august 2006 Southwests flourishing company plan includes flying several small, swift journeys into the proficient and economical airports by means of just one kind of aircraft i.e. theBoeing 737 (Lauer, 2010).

The issues of Southwest Airlines and there management
Some of the issues faced by the Southwest Airlines include disobedience of the safety prerequisite on March 6, 2008 in which the airline was accused and found guilty with the charges of the fact that the company allowed almost 117 of its plane to continue flying routines while they were not safe enough as per the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) safety investigators regulations because flying is found safe only for 30 months per plane after which certain test are done to see if its safe enough to fly. The charges were neglected by the Southwest authorities but eventually after checking 44 airplanes they were found accountable for the charges and a fine of 10.2 million was charged which was paid afterwards in 2009 after FAA agreed to mower it to 7.5 million. So this issue was faced by the airlines as a great drawback but did not affect the flying and customer routine (Lauer, 2010).

Also, another issue that was raised by FAA was the spare parts that were being used in the planes were improper therefore the company was given a certain deadline to change the parts before any fine was charged as the parts did not present a safety danger also it was deciding who to fine the Southwest Airlines or the vendor who sold the parts. So this issue was dealt with no difficulty by the company and parts were replaced before any harm was done to the corporation or the customers (Gittell, 2005).

It is one airline that has a record of no human life loss even in case of some accidents which fully shows the quality of management (Lauer, 2010).

Future operations of Southwest Airlines
The future of Southwest Airlines is quite better as in future customer service will become the main distinction which they are following perfectly, also the price matters which these airlines provide in a brilliant way and are loyal to their customers as it an airline which brought the Low-Cost Carrier (LCC) revolution and it has competitors like the Virgin Blue and JetBlue airlines which offer a the same number of value added services, yet maintain a low price. It did a global code sharing agreement Mexican low cost carrierVolaris and plans to only perform departures within the US premises (Lauer, 2010).
